Hygiene – Personal

  • Alcohol-based Hand Sanitiser and Alcohol/Antibacterial Wipes will be supplied and used by all Jitterbugs employees.
  • All Jitterbugs employees will wash their hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitiser before entering and again when leaving your centre.
  • All Jitterbugs employees will wash their hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitiser when transitioning from room to room.
  • All Jitterbugs employees have been educated and trained on the importance of good hygiene practice as per the Australian Government Department of Health guidelines. This includes but is not limited to the importance of handwashing, when your hands should be washed and the importance of covering coughs and sneezes with your elbow or tissue.
  • Face Masks will be worn on site by all Jitterbugs staff members, subject to the current Victorian State Government regulations and/or the Centre’s requirements.
  • All Jitterbugs employees have been informed about the importance of not touching any surfaces or objects within your Centre that is not necessary.
  • All Jitterbugs employees will complete the free COVID-19 Infection Control Training from the Department of Health, prior to the commencement of Jitterbugs sessions within your Centre.
  • If there are any further requirements that have been implemented within your Centre to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all Jitterbugs staff will adhere to those regulations as instructed.

Hygiene – Props

  • All Props will be cleaned and sanitised with alcohol/antibacterial wipes, hot soapy water or washed in the washing machine (depending on the prop) prior to, between and/or after every session.**
  • All music equipment will be cleaned and sanitised with alcohol/antibacterial wipes before entering your Centre, including mobile phone and portable speaker, and again upon leaving your centre.
  • A list of all themes and props that we propose to use will be provided to you prior to the recommencement/start of the Jitterbugs sessions within your Centre.

** As each Centre Jitterbugs attends has different requirements with regards to the number of rooms Jitterbugs visit, further discussions regarding cleaning protocols within each centre may be required.

Physical Distancing

  • Jitterbugs employees will ensure they maintain 1.5m physical distance from all staff members within your centre. Social distancing will be encouraged with the children, so where possible they will not come within 1.5m of the Jitterbugs instructor. This includes no hugging, high-fiving or other forms of physical contact in your Centre.
  • Contact with staff and children within your Centre will be limited to the facilitation of the Jitterbugs session only. Where possible, all unnecessary contact with staff and children will be avoided.
  • Where songs ask children to hold hands or have close contact with each other, an alternate action will be used. All songs that do not adhere to the recommended hygiene practice will be excluded from the Jitterbugs playlist at this time.

Health & Safety

  • All Jitterbugs employees will Check-In using the QR Code system upon arrival and sign in as required by your Centre.
  • If the Jitterbugs instructor is feeling unwell, displaying any cold or flu like symptoms, or has been in close contact with a person who has suspected Covid-19, they will not attend your Centre and advise you immediately, postponing the Jitterbugs Program until it is deemed appropriate to return.
  • If the Jitterbugs instructor has been in contact with someone infected with Covid-19 or they have received confirmation that they have tested positive to Covid-19, you will be notified immediately and the instructor will not continue the Jitterbugs sessions, until cleared to do so.
