Yes, there are many benefits. As much as the Jitterbugs program is active and fun it is also educational. Research shows that active bodies do really lead to active minds.
Jitterbugs weekly interactive themes and learning outcomes are aligned with the National Quality Standard and Early Years Learning Framework and each week the children receive a fun activity sheet tailored to the week’s theme. Additional details of the learning objectives and outcomes with suggested follow-up activities are also provided to educators and parents/caregivers.
Jitterbugs sessions encourage early childhood development through music, movement, and play-based learning.
Although weekly sessions provide the best opportunities for learning experiences, Jitterbugs is happy to work with the needs of your centre.
We offer weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or occasional sessions and incursions.
Yes, we do. The Jitterbugs program includes age appropriate music and movement sessions for babies, toddlers, pre-kinder and kinder aged children.
Our program has the flexibility to also allow for mixed aged groups, should you need to combine rooms.
We are happy to discuss your requirements further, so please get in touch.
We suggest 15 minutes for babies and 30 minutes for each of the older age groups. We can tailor our sessions to suit your centre’s needs, considering the number of rooms and number of children in each room.
Our music and movement program is available in mornings and afternoons at a time that suits you.

Jitterbugs has over 40 different themes, some of which can be seen here.
We are happy to email you a comprehensive list of the themes, showing the props included, the learning opportunities and the links with the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework.
The Jitterbugs program is designed to be flexible. If there is a theme that your children are exploring and it is not on our theme list, let us know, we love to work with educators and provide opportunities for children to learn through music and movement as they discover new topics.
As well as lots of high energy action songs and fun, the Jitterbugs program provides high quality instructors who are passionate facilitators of learning. All Jitterbugs instructors have experience teaching preschool aged children and are enthusiastic, caring and encourage all children to explore their own ideas, movements, imagination, and creativity.
The Jitterbugs program ensures there are opportunities for active learning through play, with all props and musical instruments provided for every child to explore and use.
Weekly activity sheets are included for the children to take home, with further information for parents/carers about the theme, the props used and the learning objectives. Additional activities for continued learning are also available.
Each week Jitterbugs will provide information to educators with the links to the EYLF and National Quality Standards, to assist with reporting, assessment and rating.
No minimum number of children required. It is best if there are no more than 25 children in each session, however we understand that some room ratios may allow for more than this. Just let us know and we will ensure that we have enough props for all the children to enjoy.
Our preferred payment option is the centre pay option. This is also the most cost effective and can work out to be as little as $4 per child.
We do also offer parent pay options. Please contact us for further information.
Each week the children will receive a fun activity sheet tailored to the week’s theme. Additional information regarding the themes learning objectives is also provided.
Play based follow-up activities are also available. Whenever possible, Jitterbugs is happy to share learning resources to further enhance children’s learning opportunities.
Other than a 2 week break over Christmas, the Jitterbugs Program is available throughout the year.
Should your instructor be away or sick, we will endeavour to provide a replacement instructor for the day. If this is not possible a make-up class will be provided.
Yes, all staff have working with children’s checks and are covered by Jitterbugs $20,000,000 public liability insurance.
A copy of the Certificate of Currency and Working with Children’s Checks will be provided at the commencement of the Jitterbugs Program.
Yes! The Jitterbugs program can be started at any point during the year. No matter when you decide to start the program, the first two weeks are fun introductory sessions and then we progress to the weekly programmed themes.
We understand that sometimes things change. Should you need to cancel the program we do require 4 weeks notice. You can re-join at any time!
